At the Global Retina Institute, we strive to instill a sense of education into your eye care services. Laser eye surgery consultations give our patients an opportunity to understand their eye conditions and the available treatment options.
Our team uses diagnostic technology and personalized care to evaluate each patient’s unique situation to meet their needs and goals.

Our Comprehensive Consultation Services
Laser eye surgery consultations are an essential part of the eye care services the Global Retina Institute provides.
These consultations allow our retina specialists to diagnose and develop personalized treatment plans for a wide range of eye conditions, including retinal holes and tears, lattice degeneration, capsular opacity, and glaucoma.
Retinal Holes & Tears
Retinal holes and tears are serious conditions that require prompt diagnosis and treatment to prevent retinal detachment, which can lead to vision loss.
A consultation with our team can help detect and diagnose these conditions, and our specialists can use targeted laser therapy to seal the hole or tear, preventing fluid from entering the retina and reducing the risk of further damage.
Laser Floater Treatment
Floaters are small particles that appear in a patient’s field of vision and can cause discomfort and impaired vision. We can diagnose and provide treatment for floaters using laser therapy. The treatment works by using a laser to break up and dissolve floaters, which can help improve the patient’s vision and quality of life.
Lattice Degeneration
Lattice degeneration is a condition that causes thinning of the peripheral retina, which can increase the risk of retinal tears, breaks, and detachment.
We help detect and diagnose lattice degeneration with Optos wide-angle imaging, allowing our specialists to develop a personalized treatment plan based on the patient’s unique needs and goals.
Capsular Opacity
Capsular opacity is a common condition after cataract surgery, causing blurred vision and discomfort. A consultation allows us to diagnose and treat capsular opacity using Yag Capsulotomy, which involves using a laser to create a small opening in the back of the lens capsule, restoring clear vision.
Our Laser Treatments
Following your consultation, we also offer laser eye surgery procedures performed onsite by our provider, such as SLT and YAG Capsulotomy, to help address your vision needs.
We work with you to determine a laser eye surgery procedure that fits your unique visual needs.
SLT
Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) is a laser eye surgery procedure used to treat glaucoma by reducing intraocular pressure. SLT involves using a low-level laser to target specific cells in the trabecular meshwork, which drains fluid from the eye.
By reducing the pressure in the eye, SLT can slow the progression of glaucoma and prevent further damage to the optic nerve. Following a consultation, we use SLT as a noninvasive alternative to traditional eye drops and medications.
YAG Capsulotomy
YAG Capsulotomy is a noninvasive laser eye surgery procedure used to treat capsular opacity, a common complication that can occur after cataract surgery. This condition causes the lens capsule to become cloudy, leading to blurred vision and discomfort.
YAG Capsulotomy uses a laser to create a small opening in the back of the lens capsule, allowing light to enter the eye and restoring clear vision.
Comprehensive Laser Eye Surgery Services
At the Global Retina Institute, we handle everything in-house and provide patients with a comprehensive explanation of the testing and surgical procedures involved. We do this so you have a clear understanding of what to expect before, during, and after treatment.
We also do not charge hidden or facility fees on top of the cost of treatment. Contact us to experience the quality care the Global Retina Institute is known for.
